"A paixão pelo possível" em educação comparada e internacional

Resumo

Este artigo interroga a direcionalidade Norte-Sul da produção de conhecimento no campo da Educação Comparada e Internacional. Com base em um arcabouço teórico desenvolvido no Sul, descreve as mudanças que ocorrem nos países da América Latina e que afirmam a diversidade e a mistura (mestizaje) cultural, étnica e racial que há muito caracterizam as Américas. Também questiona as Ciências Sociais ocidentais e seu domínio sobre as estruturas  de análise para compreender as sociedades e culturas latino-americanas. O artigo ainda convida pesquisadores a interromper a destruição do conhecimento indígena, ocorrida por meio da  imposição do regime epistêmico dominante, e encoraja-os a desenvolver o pensamento decolonial e paradigmas de pesquisa que contestem a hierarquia Norte-Sul na produção de conhecimento, a fim de promover igualdade e justiça nas comunidades locais e globais.
